This entire Zodiac of 360 degrees is divided into twelve equal parts of 30 degrees each, called Rashi or Signs. These twelve signs are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.
Each sign occupies 30° of celestial longitude and roughly corresponds to the astronomical constellations with the same name. Each of the twelve zodiac signs holds significance in its respective area, and therefore, it is necessary to study each sign for the matters it represents.
Each sign covers a certain group of stars, constellations or Nakshatras. The group of stars form a particular type of shape, which depicts its characteristics.
